 My Action Plan (MAP)
My Action Plan (MAP) is our districts version of the Graduation Transition 12, which is a 4 credit course as well as a graduation requirement. The MAP will be introduced to the students in Planning 11 and students will exit their Planning 11 course with a draft copy of their MAP for grade 12. Students will need to save all documents completed in Planning 11 to a flash drive, or copy them to their own computer files. Each year the school district removes all Planning assignments in preparation for the new intake. During grade 12 the students can modify their MAP and get ready for their presentation/interview.
Next interview sessions:
May 10th, 2012
- scheduling determined by your English/Communications or Grad Readiness courses.
Eng/Comm second semester you must present in May.
If you are NOT registered in English or Communications this semester and did NOT complete an interview in December 2011, you will need to see Mrs. M in the Career Ctr asap. You MUST complete this process in order to graduate.
Grad Readiness students - Mrs. Thompson's class will be completing their interviews on a separate date to be announced.
If you completed a MAP interview in Grade 11, for special circumstances,
please ensure that you are not scheduled in your grade 12 year, by contacting Mrs.McLachlan in the Career Ctr.
The following information needs to be included in the student's MAP.
1. Transition Plan - What are you going to be doing for the first year out of high school?
2. Budget - Income in and funds out for first year out of high school
3. Cover Letter
4. Resume
5. 30 hours of work and/or volunteer activities
6. Healthy Living Plan completion of your own write up.
7. Teacher reference letter (form available)
** DPA (Daily Physical Activity) is a graduation requirement. It is NOT part of MAP. You will pick up a form from the Career Ctr, complete and return it to the Career Ctr. You do NOT include this in your MAP presentation.
